We traveled to the Brooklyn Naval Yards where we embarked on the USS George Goethels We move to the town of Kitzingen am Main where the clock tower  roof leans to one side. 

The river Main flows by the town on its way to Wurtzburg.  The river travels south then north making a large bend. Straight across  is Wurtzburg then the river flows to Frankfurt where it joins the Rhine. We lived in a couple of places in Kitzingen.  For a while we lived in the house rented by the US Government.  The house was owned by a woman who continued to live within the house on the basement. It was a large house with several floors.  I attended the eighth grade in Kitzingen and then went on to the Ninth at the High School in Wurtzburg.
