Refugia Cuca De La Cruz born on December 26, 1917 in Lockhart, TX passed away peacefully on September 8, 2007 at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose and her son, Joe Jr. She is survived by her loving daughter, Leticia De La Cruz; sister, Consuelo Martin; nephew, Frank Lopez Jr. and her beloved pet and granddog BUD; extended family and friends. Cuca was a devoted wife and mother who was known as having a generous nature and a big heart. She lovingly cared for many family members throughout her life. She volunteered at the West End Center for Seniors for many years and was elected Queen in 1983. She will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 2:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel. Procession will depart Hillcrest on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 9:30 A.M. for 10:00 A.M. Mass of the Resurrection at the Shrine of the Basilica of the Little Flower. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II. Arrangements with Hillcrest Funeral Home.
