Augustine C. Carrillo born July 18, 1921 to Miguel & Eufemia Carrillo. Mr. Carrillo was born in San Antonio, Texas where he resided all of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents Miguel Carrillo and Eufermia Carrillo also his first wife Frances Carrillo and wife Marjorie Carrillo, his two brothers Mike and Henry Carrillo as well as his sisters Maria Martinez and Petra Sanchez (and Margaret Rodriguez*). He is survived by his sons Roland Carrillo (Rita), Jerry Carrillo (Cecelia), and Mike Carrillo (Yolanda) daughters Sylvia Cantu, and Terrie Hoffmann (Hal). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Mr. Carrillo served in WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the WWII Medal, Efficiency Honor & Fidelity medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign, Good Conduct Medal, and the Belgium award for the Battle of the Bulge. He was also a member of the Texas National Guard and retired as a Master Sergeant. He retired from Kelly AFB in 1978. His passion was his guitar, for many years he played with his friend Manuel Rodriguez as "Los Dos Amigos" and mainly sang old Mexican love songs. They performed at many functions to include the famous Casa Rio, Hilton Hotel and many other functions. They also played on the barges at the Riverwalk downtown. He traveled all over Europe, Argentina and the Caribbean with his wife Nardi. He loved cats. His favorite cat was named "Tommy". He was an inspiration to his family and was loved by many. The Carrillo family would like to thank his physicians Dr. Robert Shoemaker, Dr. Rudolph Massari and Dr. Hoan Pho for their care and compassion. We would also like to acknowledge his good friends "Willie and Sally" for their love and support. Lastly we would like to thank his caretakers for their great assistance in caring for Dad with their love and compassion; Lisa, Irma and Denise Ortiz. Honorary Pall Bearers: Roland Carrillo, Sylvia Cantu, Jerry Carrillo, Terrie Hoffman and Mike Carrillo. Visitation will be held at Brookehill Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 31 from 6-9 pm. Funeral procession will depart Brookehill Funeral Home at 9:45 am on Thursday, June 1 for a graveside service at 10:15 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
